The zirconia-based fixed-diameter tundish nozzles produced by our company are suitable for continuous casting of small billets. This product is made from imported high-grade zirconia combined with various highly efficient binders, then formed under high pressure and sintered at high temperatures. It features a neat external shape, excellent concentricity, superior thermal shock resistance, no cracking, outstanding erosion resistance, low expansion rate, and an average service life of over twelve hours for alloy steel and over fifteen hours for plain carbon steel, fully meeting the requirements of steel plants for continuous casting.

Mechanism Principle
The tundish nozzle quick-change mechanism features a simple and compact structure and is installed at the bottom of the tundish. It is powered by a hydraulic cylinder and consists primarily of a base, a support frame, a hydraulic cylinder mounting bracket, and corresponding refractory materials. The support frame is equipped with sliding guides, while the hydraulic cylinder is fixed to the mounting bracket and connected to the main hydraulic system. When it becomes necessary to replace the nozzle, simply activate the hydraulic cylinder to complete the nozzle replacement.

Technical Features of the Tundish Water Nozzle and Quick-Change Series for Billet Casting
1. Operation Description
In the pouring state, the upper and lower sprue blocks are tightly joined, and their centerlines coincide, ensuring smooth steel flow. After prolonged pouring, the lower sprue suffers severe scouring and erosion, causing the pouring orifice to enlarge and increasing the flow rate. When the casting machine’s pull speed no longer matches the required steel flow rate as stipulated by the procedure, the hydraulic system is activated to push the standby sprue from its standby position into the pouring position within 1–2 seconds, maintaining alignment of the pouring orifice centerlines. As a result, molten steel flows smoothly into the crystallizer through the new sprue, completing the rapid sprue replacement in an instant.
2. Technical Features
(1) The tundish nozzle can be quickly replaced within one second without interrupting the casting process, or the blind brick can be replaced at the same speed to achieve flow interruption and casting stoppage.
(2) The mechanism employs an elastic nozzle clamping system with a spring-independent clamping design, ensuring safety and reliability.
(3) Different-sized fixed-diameter tundishes can be interchanged to achieve optimal matching of the casting machine’s withdrawal speed, ensuring that steelmaking and continuous casting remain synchronized.
