Ladle slide plates—alumina-carbon and alumina-zirconia-carbon types

The sliding plates are primarily made from tabular corundum, electrofused corundum, zircon-corundum, and zircon-mullite. Metal micropowders and fine powders are added to enhance the high-temperature performance of the sliding plates. The binders used include phenolic resins with high residual carbon content and high solid content, as well as silicon-modified resins. By employing a variety of different processes—including no-bake, lightly-baked, and fully-fired methods—the sliding plates exhibit excellent resistance to molten steel erosion, outstanding resistance to molten steel scouring, and superior thermal-shock stability.
